Turkey and 7 Other Nations Join US-Proposed "Council of Peace" for Gaza

Turkey, along with seven other countries (Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Jordan, Indonesia, Pakistan, Qatar, and the United Arab Emirates), has announced its acceptance of US President Donald Trump's invitation to participate in the new "Council of Peace" for Gaza. This participation is part of the 20-page US plan to end the conflict, which includes a ceasefire, disarmament, technocratic administration, and reconstruction. Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan will be involved in the governance and support of essential services in Gaza, while President Erdogan was invited as a founding member of the initiative. Each country will follow the necessary internal legal procedures for official participation.
