Trump's Peace Council: “A Dangerous Development, High Risks for Cyprus” - Professor K. Constantinou

Professor of International Relations, Kostas Constantinou, describes the establishment of the Peace Council by Donald Trump as a “dangerous development” aimed at restructuring the international system. He points out that this Council, outside the framework of the UN, lacks fundamental principles such as human rights and peaceful dispute resolution, making it problematic and potentially destructive. Regarding Cyprus's participation, Mr. Constantinou warns of the risks and contradictions, as the country is called upon to support an initiative that undermines multilateral diplomacy and the equality of states. He believes that the restructuring of the UN is urgently needed, but not in the way proposed by Trump's Peace Council.
