Trilateral Meeting Concludes with Written Statement Only from Olguin - President's Immediate Response

The trilateral meeting on the Cyprus issue concluded with the participation of President Christodoulides, the Turkish Cypriot leader Erhurman, and the UN Secretary-General's Personal Envoy, Maria Angela Holguin. The meeting lasted approximately two hours and was followed by a written statement from Holguin only, without a joint announcement. The statement highlights the importance of dialogue and the review of proposals for resuming negotiations, as well as initiatives for Confidence-Building Measures (CBMs). President Christodoulides stated that he submitted a specific proposal regarding the substance of the Cyprus issue and the CBMs, proposing the reaffirmation of the basis for a solution and the preparation of convergences by the UN Secretary-General. He also suggested that the negotiators meet in the next two weeks to continue the discussion. Regarding the CBMs, the President mentioned his readiness for Mia Milia, while there are objections to Athienou-Aglaτζιά.
