Tribute to Cypriot Victim of Tempi Train Tragedy

The Lyceum of Kokkinohoria honored Cyprianos Papaioannou, a student who lost his life in the tragic Tempi train accident. The event included a memorial service and music from the Music School, which Cyprianos also attended. Cyprianos, 23 years old, is described by his family as a quiet and principled individual. Cyprus also mourns the loss of Anastasia Damidi, 24, from Paphos, who also died in the Tempi tragedy. The upcoming weekend marks three years since the tragic accident at Tempi, resulting in protests in Greece and abroad, including Cyprus. The Association of Relatives of Victims is calling for mass participation in the demonstrations that will take place next Saturday, with the main demand being justice. In Nicosia, the mobilization will take place in Eleftheria Square at 5:00 PM, with speeches and limited artistic participation. The central message of the protest is “Their profits or our lives.” The memory of Cyprianos and Anastasia, along with all the victims of Tempi, remains alive, while the demand for justice and safety in rail transport remains strong.
