TK Press: Heart Disease and Cancer Leading Causes of Death in Occupied Territories

New statistics from the occupied territories show that cardiovascular diseases and cancer remain the leading causes of death. Nearly one in two deaths is due to heart problems, followed by neoplastic diseases and respiratory illnesses. According to the data, out of the 1,745 deaths recorded in the occupied territories in 2024, 891 (46.4%) were caused by circulatory system diseases. This trend has been observed for years, with 4,598 deaths from cardiovascular problems between 2019-2024. Cancer accounts for 12.9% of deaths, while there is a 10.6% increase in deaths from external causes, such as road accidents. These figures highlight the need to improve public health and safety in the occupied territories.
