Three Arrests and 197 Traffic Violations in One Night – Enhanced Police Operations Continue

The Cyprus Police continue their enhanced preventative operations in urban areas, aiming to prevent criminal activities and protect citizens. During the past night, arrests were made for offenses such as road collisions, drug possession, driving under the influence of alcohol and drugs, illegal stay, and outstanding warrants. In total, three individuals were arrested island-wide. One person was arrested for a series of offenses related to a traffic accident and drug use, while the other two were arrested for violations of immigration laws. Furthermore, five vehicles were impounded as part of the investigation of traffic offenses. Checks on premises continued, aiming to prevent and suppress illegal behavior. On the road network, over 650 checks were carried out, resulting in 197 traffic violations. The most common offenses involved exceeding the speed limit (65 violations) and running red lights (30 violations). These operations are part of a broader and ongoing police plan to enhance citizen safety.
