Theodosios Tassios: Pessimism is a Duty

In an extensive interview, philosopher Theodosios Tassios reflects on crucial issues of life and existence. He expresses the view that pessimism is a necessary attitude, while referring to his special relationship with Cyprus, where he has been honored with doctorates and has contributed to important projects, such as the expansion of the Archbishopric Palace. Mr. Tassios describes a moving experience during the first anniversary of the Turkish invasion, where he found himself with Archbishop Makarios III and Dimitris Panagoulis on a balcony that was in danger of collapsing. Answering the question about the danger to Hellenism in Cyprus, Mr. Tassios states that he cannot answer with certainty, but expresses his optimism that a solution will eventually be found, despite the difficult times and geopolitical changes.
