The 'Silent' Drone That Passed Like a Bird Through Radar and Hit Akrotiri Bases - What Sources with Military Knowledge Report

A small, plastic drone, with a small footprint and low speed, managed to pass unnoticed by radar and hit the British Bases, according to sources with military knowledge. Despite its enhanced defensive shield from third countries, Cyprus cannot be considered 100% safe, as risks remain. Currently, Cyprus is protected by Greek F16s, a French aircraft carrier, frigates from various countries (Spain, Italy) and possible reinforcements from the Netherlands and Germany. Sources stressed the importance of international cooperation and exchange of experiences, as Cyprus is at the center of geopolitical developments. Following the incident, there was embarrassment from the British side over initial statements, with assurances of measures to protect the Bases and Cyprus, including anti-drone systems, helicopters and frigates. The Greek F16s have a reconnaissance and interception role, while there is full coordination between control centers and the involved forces.
