“The Rise of the Sun, the Fall of Time” | Solo Exhibition by Danae Patsalou at Edit

The Edit Gallery presents the solo exhibition “The Rise of the Sun, the Fall of Time” by Cypriot visual artist Danae Patsalou. The exhibition explores the relationship between time, memory, and renewal, using the image of the sunrise and archaeological discovery as parallel references. Through painting and drawing, Patsalou examines moments of revelation, where what was hidden becomes visible. The sunrise transforms the landscape, revealing forms that were immersed in darkness, while archaeological discovery brings objects and fragments from the past to light. The exhibition includes two sections of works. The first is inspired by the Ara Pacis in Rome, while the second captures the atmosphere of sunrise. Both sections connect the discovery of the past with the daily reappearance of light, suggesting both excavation and dawn as moments of revelation. Danae Patsalou is a graduate of Falmouth University and holds an MA in Arts and Cultural Management from King’s College London. The exhibition will run from March 21st to May 2nd, 2026 at the Edit Gallery in Limassol, with the opening taking place on March 21st in the presence of the artist.
