TEPAK to Expand with New School in Larnaca and 500 Student Beds

The Technological University of Cyprus (TEPAK) is expected to launch a School of Marine Sciences and Sustainable Development in Larnaca in September 2027. Simultaneously, student housing will be increased by 500 beds by 2027 (150 in 2026 and 350 in 2027), addressing the acute housing problem for students. The Parliamentary Committee on Education expressed satisfaction with these developments, while the possibility of establishing a TEPAK school in the free province of Famagusta was also discussed. Furthermore, the operation of two departments of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (Psychology and Maritime Studies) in Larnaca from September 2026 is being considered, however, there are concerns regarding the housing issue. Support is also being given to the effort to establish a Veterinary School of the University of Thessaly in the Municipality of Athienou.
