Tender Awarded for Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at Makarios Hospital

A tender has been awarded for the construction of the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at Makarios Hospital. The announcement was made by the President of the Parliamentary Health Committee, Efthymios Diplaros, after the committee meeting. Work is expected to begin at the end of March or early April, and the unit is estimated to be ready for operation by the end of July 2027. The project had been delayed due to problems with the previous contractor, but has now progressed with a new contractor and the same architect. The signing of the contracts is expected within the next two weeks. The cost of the project will amount to €10 million, an amount that has already been included in the budget of the OKYPY. The Health Committee believes that the budget is moving in the right direction. At the same time, the Committee continued the discussion on the bill regarding the Ambulance Service, with the article-by-article discussion being completed on Thursday and the bill heading to the Plenary Session of the Parliament.
