Taxi Drivers Continue Mobilization with Work Stoppage and Indefinite Strike Warning

Taxi drivers in Cyprus are continuing their mobilization efforts with a new 24-hour work stoppage scheduled for Tuesday, January 20, 2026, from 6:00 a.m. to Wednesday, January 21, 2026, at 6:00 a.m. The Pan-Cypriot Taxi Association (POAT) states that there has been no response or proposal from the relevant authorities to address their demands. This work stoppage follows a previous four-hour protest on January 13, 2026. POAT warns that if their demands are not met, they will proceed with an indefinite strike on Tuesday, January 27, 2026. Taxi drivers will gather at Larnaca and Paphos airports, as well as at the Potamos Germasogeias parking area in Limassol.
