Switzerland: All Victims and Injured Identified in Crans Montana Tragedy

In Switzerland, the identification of all 116 injured and 40 deceased from the tragedy at the Le Constellation bar in Crans Montana on New Year's Day has been completed. Most of the dead and injured are Swiss, while among the victims are citizens of 19 countries, including French and Italian nationals. According to authorities, the fire started when fireworks attached to champagne bottles touched the soundproofing foam on the bar's roof. Switzerland declared Friday a national day of mourning, with church bells ringing and a minute of silence observed. French President Emmanuel Macron will visit Switzerland for the ceremony. The remains of the five Italian teenagers have already been repatriated to Italy. Burn victims with the most serious injuries have been transported to specialized centers in Switzerland and abroad.
