Supreme Court: Confirms Delayed Heart Attack Diagnosis - €500,000 Damages

The Supreme Court of Cyprus has confirmed the liability of a private clinic and external doctor in a case of delayed heart attack diagnosis, dismissing their appeals. The patient suffered permanent heart damage due to the delay, which led to extensive myocardial necrosis. The patient had gone to the clinic with symptoms, but an accurate diagnosis was not initially made, nor was a cardiogram showing signs of a heart attack properly evaluated. The delay in diagnosis and treatment was critical, as the heart attack was diagnosed several hours later. The court found the clinic and doctor liable and awarded damages of approximately €500,000 to the patient.
