Stylianou Case: Police Testimonies Reveal Delays in Social Services

The trial for the suicide of 14-year-old Stylianos Konstantinou continued with the testimony of three police officers. The lawyer for the 3rd defendant (a Social Services employee) requested more details in the indictment, arguing that the legislation underlying her duty is not clearly stated. The request was denied by the court. The testimonies of the police officers revealed delays in Social Services in processing reports of domestic violence. Specifically, an electronic record of a complaint by Stylianos' mother from 2009 was submitted, where she reported threats from her husband. The indictment includes 218 charges against 11 people, including the parents and Social Services employees.
