Severe weather conditions have been observed across Cyprus since Friday morning, with rainfall, hailstorms, and snowfall in the Troodos region. A Yellow Warning has been issued by the Meteorological Department, valid until 11:00 PM. Conditions on the Limassol motorway are particularly difficult due to water accumulation on the road surface. The Police are warning drivers to be careful, reduce speed, keep headlights on, and maintain a safe distance from other vehicles. A low-pressure system is affecting the area, with forecasts for local showers and thunderstorms, while sleet or snow is expected in the higher peaks of Troodos. Winds will be southwesterly, light to moderate, but strong on the coasts and during thunderstorms. The sea will be slightly rough to rough. Tonight, similar conditions are expected, with the possibility of heavy thunderstorms and hail. The temperature will drop to 8 degrees Celsius inland and 3 degrees Celsius in the mountains. For tomorrow and the following days, intermittent local showers and thunderstorms are forecast, with the possibility of hail in the mountains. Conditions are expected to remain unstable.
