Slight 0.2% Increase in Industry Prices in January

The Producer Price Index in Industry recorded a slight annual increase of 0.2% in January 2026, according to the Statistical Service. On a monthly basis, the index decreased by 0.6% compared to December 2025. The increase was observed in the sectors of water supply, mining and quarries, and manufacturing, while a decrease was recorded in the supply of electricity. Compared to January 2025, increases were recorded in mining and quarries, water supply, and manufacturing, while electricity supply decreased. By manufacturing sector, increases were recorded in the manufacture of electronic products, furniture and machinery, while decreases were recorded in the food industry and the production of basic metals. These data provide a picture of price developments in industry, indicating a general stabilization with small increases and decreases in individual sectors. The small increase on an annual basis suggests limited inflationary pressures in the industrial sector.
