Six Planets to Align for Rare 'Parade' in the Sky

A spectacular sight is expected at the end of the month, as six planets – Mercury, Venus, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus and Neptune – will appear close together in the night sky. The planetary alignment will peak on February 28th and will be visible from many regions of the world, including Greece. Although they will appear aligned from Earth, the planets are actually millions or even billions of kilometers apart. This alignment follows a similar phenomenon observed in February 2025, when seven planets were visible simultaneously. This year's conditions are considered particularly favorable, as four of the planets – Mercury, Venus, Jupiter and Saturn – will be visible to the naked eye. Uranus and Neptune will require binoculars or a telescope. The best time to observe is about half an hour after sunset, with a view towards the western horizon and a clear sky. Astronomers recommend that the planets be at least 10 degrees above the horizon to be clearly visible. The planetary parade will be visible almost worldwide, with slight differences in the best viewing date depending on the region.
