Singer-Songwriter Evi Droutsa Falls Victim to Elaborate Robbery

Singer-songwriter Evi Droutsa was robbed of €22,000 by fraudsters who posed as employees of the Public Power Corporation (DEDDIE). The perpetrators took advantage of the recent severe weather and contacted Ms. Droutsa, claiming that urgent work was needed on her electricity supply. Ms. Droutsa reported that the fraudsters entered her home and damaged her electrical appliances, asking her to wrap her money and jewelry in aluminum foil under the pretext that this would help restore power. Ms. Droutsa followed their instructions, but after the perpetrators left, she discovered that her money had disappeared. She expressed her confusion about the absurd instructions she was given, while the police have launched an investigation to locate and arrest the perpetrators. This incident serves as a warning about the need for vigilance and caution when dealing with unknown individuals posing as employees of public services, especially during emergencies.
