Significant Turnover Increase in Cypriot Industry in 2025

The Cypriot industry experienced a significant increase in turnover in 2025, with a 4.9% rise in December compared to 2024, reaching 139.8 points. For the entire year, the increase reached 5.0%, despite challenges faced by certain sub-sectors. Manufacturing was the main driver of this growth, with a jump of 7.1%, while mining and quarrying also contributed positively (6.0%). A remarkable increase was observed in the manufacture of machinery and equipment (42.8%) and in the mechanization of vehicles and transport equipment (42.8%). Significant increases were also noted in the wood industry (23.8%), furniture manufacturing (17.0%), the production of petroleum refining, chemical and pharmaceutical products (11.6%), food, beverages and tobacco (6.7%), rubber and plastic products (9.4%) and basic metals (6.5%). Conversely, a decline was recorded in the manufacture of electronic and optical products and electrical equipment (-21.6%) and in non-metallic mineral products (-5.9%). Domestic turnover increased by 4.4% in December and 5.1% for the whole year, while the export sector showed a stronger monthly increase (7.9%) and annual (4.6%). Overall, the data show a resilient industry with strong growth in many sectors, despite the difficulties faced by some areas. The increase in turnover indicates a positive trajectory for the Cypriot industry, with prospects for further development in the future.
