Significant Tourism and Housing Development in Larnaca Suburbs

A significant tourism and housing development is underway in the municipalities of Oroklini, Livadia, and Pyla, with building permits having doubled compared to last year. The President of the Larnaca Provincial Self-Governing Body (PSGB), Angelos Chatzicharalambous, stated that the increased demand concerns residences, hotels, and housing complexes, with developments in the healthcare sector, such as small hospitals and medical centers, also expected. The PSGB has strengthened its teams in these areas to meet the growing needs. The development is expected to continue in the coming years, as all necessary actions have been taken to ensure the smooth progress of the projects. At the same time, the possibility of expanding residential zones is being considered to address the lack of available plots and the potential for soaring prices. Mr. Chatzicharalambous emphasized that development should be accompanied by the creation of necessary infrastructure, such as schools, universities, and medical centers. Expanding the zones is considered essential to keep costs at reasonable levels and absorb demand from the market. Furthermore, there are applications for the repair of old buildings and their conversion into new tourist units, indicating a trend of upgrading the existing tourism product in the area.
