Significant Increase in Oil Prices

Oil prices rose by more than 2% due to geopolitical uncertainty regarding Iran and the reduction in US production caused by a storm. Brent reached $67.006 per barrel, while WTI reached $61.98. The storm in the US led to a decrease in US production by 2 million barrels per day. Conversely, the price of US natural gas fell sharply, by almost 8%, after recent historic highs, falling to $6.25 per million British thermal units. The price of European natural gas (TTF) decreased by 3.4%, to 38.5 euros per Megawatt-hour. Despite short-term fluctuations, US natural gas prices are expected to rise by approximately 60% and European prices by 36% by 2026.
