Shark Attacks 13-Year-Old: Swimming on Australian Beach – Hospitalized in Critical Condition

A 13-year-old boy is in critical condition with severe leg injuries after being attacked by a shark while swimming in Sydney Harbour, Australia. The incident occurred in the afternoon local time near Shark Beach. Authorities report that the injuries are consistent with an attack by a large shark. Police pulled the boy from the water and provided first aid before transporting him to Sydney Children’s Hospital. Police have advised swimmers to avoid entering the water near the attack site. According to a database, more than 1,280 shark attack incidents have been recorded in Australia since 1791, with at least 250 being fatal. Recently, in September, a surfer was killed by a great white shark on a Sydney beach, and two months later, a woman lost her life in a shark attack on a remote beach.
