Shark Attack on Woman Snorkelling in Brazil

A 36-year-old woman was attacked by a shark while snorkelling off the archipelago of Fernando de Noronha in Brazil. The shark, identified as a bull shark (a species not generally considered highly aggressive), bit the woman on the thigh. She managed to get out of the water with the help of other divers and fishermen, and received first aid before being taken to hospital. Despite the shock, the woman was not seriously injured and was discharged. She stated that she feels proud to have a scar from the bite, which will remind her of the experience.
