Severe Weather Deterioration: Strong Winds, Temperature Drop and Snowfall – Video from Snow-Covered Troodos

Cyprus is expected to be affected by a significant deterioration in the weather, with a drop in temperature, strong winds, rain and thunderstorms. Snowfall is expected in the mountains, which is already being observed in Troodos. The Department of Meteorology has issued a yellow warning for strong winds, which will be particularly intense in Paphos. The deterioration of the weather will last until Tuesday, with a possible return of a cold air mass. According to Andreas Chrysanthou, an official of the Department of Meteorology, the temperature will drop by 5-6 degrees Celsius compared to yesterday, while in the mountains the drop will be even greater, reaching 10 degrees. The winds will reach 7-8 Beaufort, with gusts of even greater intensity. The rain will be local and the thunderstorms isolated. Saturday is expected to see a slight rise in temperature and a weakening of the winds, but rain will continue. On Sunday, the weather will deteriorate again, with strong winds, rain and snow in the mountains. The same picture will remain on Monday and Tuesday, with the possibility of a new cold air mass affecting Cyprus. The warning for strong winds is valid from 8 am to 10 pm. The authorities urge the public to be careful and take the necessary protective measures, especially in coastal areas and in the mountains.
