Security Guarantees for Ukraine 'Locked In' with Multinational Force Deployment

France and the UK have committed to deploying troops to Ukraine in the event of a peace agreement, serving as a security guarantee for Kyiv. The agreement, signed in Paris by the leaders of France, the UK, and Ukraine, aims to ensure Ukraine is not forced into surrender and that any peace deal is sustainable. A coordination hub will be established to integrate armed forces and coordinate between the 'Coalition of the Willing', the US, and Ukraine. The multinational force will be available by air, sea, and land, but outside the contact line. President Zelenskyy stated that allies have determined how a European deterrent force will operate in Ukraine after a ceasefire and which countries will participate. He also held specific discussions with the US regarding ceasefire monitoring and anticipates the signing of security guarantees soon. Ideas regarding the territorial issue were also discussed. The British Prime Minister referred to the creation of 'military hubs' between France and the United Kingdom, indicating closer military cooperation. This declaration of intent is considered a significant step towards a stable and lasting peace in Ukraine. According to French President Macron, the agreement marks the functional convergence between the 35 countries of the 'Coalition of the Willing', Ukraine, and the United States, creating 'truly robust security guarantees'.
