Secret Deportations to Cameroon Under Trump Administration Revealed

Published February 15, 2026, 14:15

The New York Times has revealed that the Trump administration secretly deported nine individuals to Cameroon on January 14th, from Alexandria, Louisiana. The migrants, men and women, were unaware of their destination before boarding the Department of Homeland Security aircraft and were bound in handcuffs. Despite several of them having court orders protecting them from deportation and none being Cameroonian citizens, the government proceeded with the expulsion. The information comes from government documents and lawyers representing the deportees. Neither the Department of Homeland Security, the State Department, nor the Cameroonian Foreign Ministry have denied or confirmed the report. The Trump administration has not announced any agreement with Cameroon to accept migrants from third countries. This raises questions about the legality and transparency of the entire process. The New York Times report raises serious concerns about the Trump administration’s practices in dealing with immigration and its compliance with court orders.
