Search Efforts Hampered by Bad Weather for Russian Businessman – Police Report No Evidence of Foul Play

Search efforts for the 56-year-old Russian businessman who went missing on January 7th in Limassol are ongoing, but are being hampered by bad weather. Police launched an investigation immediately after the disappearance was reported by his company. According to Limassol Assistant Police Chief Lefteris Kyriacou, there is testimony placing the businessman in the Pissouri area on January 8th. The search has mobilized various services, including the Port and Maritime Police and the JCC, but has been temporarily suspended due to weather conditions. So far, there is no evidence of criminal activity, and the investigation is being conducted according to the protocol for missing persons. The businessman lives alone in Cyprus, while his family is abroad. Mr. Kyriacou clarified that there was a previous case involving the businessman with Russian authorities 13 years ago, but it does not appear to be connected to the current disappearance. Police continue their search despite the adverse weather conditions, focusing on the area where the businessman was last seen and investigating all available information.
