Russia to Ban Gasoline Exports to Curb Prices

Russia will ban gasoline exports from April 1st to July 31st in order to curb prices, due to disruptions in the global oil and derivatives market caused by the crisis in the Middle East. Russia has already faced gasoline shortages in various regions and parts of Ukraine under Russian control, due to Ukrainian attacks on Russian refineries and seasonal demand increases. Last year, Russia exported nearly 5 million metric tons of gasoline, about 117,000 barrels per day. This decision follows the maintenance of crude oil volume for processing at last year's levels, ensuring a stable supply.
