Robots for Therapeutic Interventions for Children with Autism

New research published in the journal Science highlights the potential therapeutic role of social robots for children with autism. The research, based on two clinical trials with a total of 132 children, showed that robot-assisted therapy can achieve similar results to traditional therapy, but with increased patient engagement. The trials focused on attention, imitation, and turn-taking as key developmental mechanisms. The research supports the idea that social robots can be an effective tool in therapeutic interventions for autism.
