Revised Emergency Plan for Cyprus Ports and Coastal Facilities Unveiled

The revised plan for the Political Planning of Emergency Situations (PPES) for ports and coastal facilities in Cyprus was presented on January 20th, 2026. The plan aims to strengthen the resilience and operational continuity of ports and other coastal facilities, such as marinas and fishing shelters. The revised PPES covers the organization and execution of strategic maritime transport in order to effectively address crises and emergencies. The goal is to ensure the uninterrupted operation of critical infrastructure, even in difficult conditions. The presentation of the plan was made within the framework of upgrading the overall PPES of Cyprus. The plan was developed with the contribution of the Cyprus Ports Authority, which was honored for its contribution to the preparation of the CYPSA plans. The revised PPES is an important step in preparing Cyprus for potential crises and emergencies that may affect maritime transport and coastal infrastructure.
