ALMA Party Demands Resignations Following Corruption Video

The ALMA party is strongly criticizing the Christodoulides government following a video allegedly revealing 'black money' donations to the President's election campaign and the First Lady's Fund. ALMA accuses the government of corruption and collusion, arguing that the video confirms citizens' suspicions. The party is calling for the resignation of Charalambos Charalambou from his position in the Presidency and Philippa Karsera from the Social Support Agency, believing they are unfit for their roles. It also hints at the involvement of former Minister Giorgos Lakkotrypis, whom it considers 'key' to the scandals surrounding projects in Vasiliko and the electricity interconnection. ALMA urges President Christodoulides to provide convincing answers to the allegations, emphasizing that Cyprus cannot withstand further corruption. It points out that the government is trying to downplay the video, dismissing it as a product of editing or hostile propaganda, but this does not convince the public. The party states that the video contains recordings of conversations involving the President's associates in suspicious practices, including his husband, who is the President's chief of staff. ALMA also denounces nepotism and cronyism within the government.
