Reactions and Markets May Lead to Faster De-escalation

International relations expert, Demosthenes Dimopoulos, estimated that reactions from Gulf countries and pressures from the markets on Monday may lead to a faster de-escalation of the crisis in the Middle East, despite indications of a prolonged conflict. He stressed that the Israel-US attack on Iran lacks international legitimacy and creates problems for US allies who condemn the Russian invasion of Ukraine. In addition, he highlighted the "mismatch of goals and means" in US and Israeli strategy, as well as the fact that the complete neutralization of Iran's nuclear program and missile arsenal is difficult without a long-term ground operation. Finally, he mentioned the lack of international legitimacy of the attack.
