Rain Brings Relief to Cyprus Reservoirs

Published January 12, 2026, 19:21

Recent rainfall and snowmelt have brought relief to Cyprus' reservoirs after a prolonged period of drought. Over the past three days, inflow into the reservoirs reached 1.7 million cubic meters, increasing overall capacity to 10%. Although the numbers remain low, these amounts are the best recorded this year and last year. Further increases in water inflow are expected in the next 24 hours as the weather conditions persist. Temperatures are expected to drop but will gradually rise from Thursday.
