Raids on Barber Shops in Limassol Lead to Fines and Arrests

The Limassol ADE (Alien and Immigration Control Unit) conducted a coordinated operation on barber shops in the city, aiming to check their legality and combat illegal employment. During the operation, carried out by members of the Limassol OPE (Special Police Unit) and other services, 15 inspections were carried out. It was found that 11 barber shops were closed, while four had violations, such as operating without a license or beyond permitted hours. Additionally, one restaurant was reported for operating without a license. Three foreigners were detained for illegal stay and three for immediate offenses related to illegal employment. Eight foreigners were reported for undeclared work and were fined a total of €26,800. The Limassol ADE announced that checks will be intensified in the future.
