QatarEnergy: 3-5 Years to Repair Damage from Iranian Attacks

Iranian attacks on QatarEnergy facilities have caused significant damage, affecting 17% of the company's liquefied natural gas (LNG) export capacity. QatarEnergy CEO Saad al-Kaabi estimates that repairing the damage will take three to five years. The attacks, which caused large fires at Ras Laffan, the world's largest LNG liquefaction hub, came as a surprise to Qatar, which did not expect such an attack, especially from a 'sister' Muslim country during Ramadan. QatarEnergy had already announced the damage, and the fires were brought under control. The attack jeopardizes global LNG supplies and is expected to impact prices.
