Putin Weighs In on Greenland: 'It Doesn't Concern Us at All'

Russian President Vladimir Putin stated that the issue of Greenland's ownership does not concern Russia, leaving the United States and Denmark to resolve it between themselves. At the same time, he criticized Denmark for its management of Greenland, characterizing it historically as harsh and colonial. Putin's statement comes after US President Donald Trump expressed interest in purchasing Greenland, which caused tensions with Europe. Putin emphasized that Russia is monitoring developments but does not intend to get directly involved. Putin referred to previous territorial transactions between Russia and the United States, such as the sale of Alaska, and estimated that the purchase of Greenland could cost around $1 billion. He expressed confidence that the two countries would reach an agreement. Commenting on Trump's attempt, Putin said that Russia has no interest in acquiring Greenland, but believes that Denmark has historically treated the island unfairly.
