Protest Today Outside the US Embassy – Solidarity with the People of Venezuela

The Pan-Cypriot Peace Council (PPC) is calling on the Cypriot people to a mass demonstration outside the US Embassy in Nicosia on Monday, January 5th at 17:30, expressing its solidarity with the people of Venezuela. The demonstration is a response to the military intervention of the United States in Venezuela, which the PPC denounces as an imperialistic act that violates international law. The PPC accuses the Trump administration of kidnapping the legitimately elected President Nicolás Maduro and his wife, arguing that the real reasons for the intervention are related to the control of Venezuela's oil reserves and the imposition of geopolitical plans. The Council criticizes the stance of the international community, particularly the silence or equal distances maintained by European institutions, considering the avoidance of condemning the intervention as tolerance. The PPC calls on organized groups, trade unions, youth and citizens to participate in the demonstration, emphasizing that the defense of peace and international law requires presence, voice and action.
