Property Sales Soar to 18-Year High in 2025 - Exceeding 18,000

Property sales in Cyprus soared in 2025, reaching the highest level since 2007, with 18,114 sales contracts filed with the Land Registry, a 15% increase compared to 2024. The increase was particularly noticeable in December, with 24%, while in November it was 9%. Larnaca recorded the largest increase (19%), followed by Nicosia (17%) and free Famagusta (15%). At the same time, property prices continue to rise, with the Central Bank's House Price Index showing an annual increase of 5%, with apartments recording a larger increase (6.4%) compared to houses (2.6%). This increase is supported by credit expansion in mortgage loans and a reduction in interest rates.
