Progressive Student Movement Calls for Student Rights and Support at Start of Second Semester

The Progressive Student Movement begins the second academic semester by warmly greeting the student community, while also highlighting the difficulties faced by students at both international and domestic levels. The movement expresses concern over the weakening of student grants, the high cost of living and studying, expensive airfares, and the lack of sufficient paid internships. It denounces the government for providing students with only 60% of the European average support and refers to broader issues of governance, social inequality, and the deadlock in the Cyprus issue. The Progressive Movement commits to fighting for student rights and calls on the student community to support the upcoming elections with the slogan: “Our future against their world – NOT ONE STEP BACK.”
