President Participates in "Run for Autism", Announces Autism Center in Ammochostos

The President of the Republic, Nikos Christodoulides, participated in the "Run for Autism" charity race in Ayia Napa, expressing his support for efforts to address the needs of individuals with autism. He emphasized that the creation of a Model Autism Center in the free province of Famagusta is a minimal obligation of the state towards its citizens with autism. The center, which will cost 4.5 million euros, has already been budgeted and is expected to be completed in 18 months, in collaboration with the Municipality of Ayia Napa. The President noted that the effort began with volunteers and has evolved into a large event with the participation of athletes from 20 countries. The state committed to creating the center as early as February 2025, during a regional meeting in Famagusta. The President stressed that the creation of the center is a tangible demonstration of the state's commitment to supporting individuals with autism and their families.
