President of Cyprus Meets with ENI CEO. Meloni to Visit Cyprus in April

The President of Cyprus, Nikos Christodoulides, met in Rome with the CEO of the Italian company ENI, Claudio Descalzi, during his official visit to Italy. ENI is active in the Cypriot EEZ. During the meeting, President Christodoulides referred to his meeting the previous day with the Prime Minister of Italy, Giorgia Meloni, during which the start of a dialogue for the development of bilateral relations at the level of strategic cooperation was decided. Furthermore, it was announced that Ms. Meloni will visit Cyprus in April to participate in the informal European Council and the possibility of a bilateral visit before or after the Council is being considered. Both leaders agree on many issues, particularly within the European Council. The discussions also included the IMEC (India-Middle East-Europe Economic Corridor), a topic of interest for ENI, highlighting the increasing importance of the project in the region.
