President Emphasizes Unity and Outlines Cypriot EU Presidency Priorities

President Christodoulides, during his address to the European Parliament, stressed the importance of unity for the future of Europe, characterizing it as the Union's greatest strength. He presented the priorities of the Cypriot Presidency of the Council of the EU, which are structured around five pillars: Autonomy through Security, Defence and Preparedness, Autonomy through Competitiveness, An Autonomous Union Open to the World (with an emphasis on enlargement), and strengthening security in the Arctic. He expressed Cyprus's full support for Denmark and the people of Greenland. He emphasized that the principle of non-violent border changes must be maintained, otherwise everything will be negotiable. He referred to Cyprus's experience as a member state under occupation, highlighting the need for security.
