President Christodoulides: Time for Substance in Cyprus Talks – Ready for Expanded Conference

President of the Republic, Nikos Christodoulides, stated that it is time to discuss the substance of the Cyprus issue and expressed readiness for the expanded conference that will be called by the UN Secretary-General, with the aim of resuming negotiations from where they left off in Crans Montana. The President emphasized that the positive tone in Antonio Guterres' reports is encouraging, as it is the first time in a long time that the UN Secretary-General has referred to it. He highlighted that during the two years of negotiations with Mr. Tatar, the discussion was limited to confidence-building measures due to the Turkish Cypriot leader's positions. Cyprus is also fully prepared to take over the presidency of the EU Council, facing challenges with the aim of strengthening the autonomy and European integration.
