President Nikos Christodoulides met with the Community Authorities of the mountainous Limassol region to review issues related to the restoration of damages from the July 2025 fires. The President assured that the government stood immediately by those affected, mobilizing a support plan of approximately 60 million euros. The plan includes support for families, restoration of homes and property, reactivation of the primary sector, support for businesses and workers, infrastructure restoration, and environmental restoration. President Christodoulides expressed his sorrow for the loss of two lives in the fires and thanked local authorities, the state mechanism, volunteers, and citizens for their contribution to dealing with the crisis. He emphasized the need to learn lessons from the crisis and announced the procurement of 17 fire trucks for the fire-affected communities. Specifically, 400,000 euros were paid to cover the emergency needs of the communities, while a fund of 850,000 euros is available to strengthen the operational capacity of the fire-affected communities. The government is committed to the full restoration of the area and the return of residents to normalcy. The meeting is a continuation of the government's efforts to address the consequences of the devastating fires immediately and effectively and to provide support to those affected.
