Police Working Hours to be Discussed in Parliament - 'Equality' Calls for Protest

The working hours of police officers will be discussed at the Parliamentary Committee on Legal Affairs on January 21st, following a proposal by DISY MPs. The discussion will include the presentation of the Police organizational chart and the examination of the recent circular issued by the Chief of Police regarding working hours. The Cyprus Police Association (CPA) and the 'Equality' trade union have already requested the discussion of the issue, and 'Equality' has scheduled a protest rally outside the Parliament. 'Equality' describes the circular as an 'executive administrative act' and is considering legal action, with a statement expected from the EUROCOP Secretary-General during his visit to Cyprus.
