The Cyprus Police express strong concerns about the increase in crime and the actions of organized gangs, who operate without regard for collateral damage. The President of the Cyprus Police Association, Angelos Nikolaou, emphasized that the Police remain the barrier to crime, but need reinforcement in personnel, training, and equipment. He points out that criminal acts happen in broad daylight, causing insecurity among citizens. He calls on the state and Parliament for appropriate support to effectively address organized crime, which has no borders and whose perpetrators focus solely on achieving their goal.
