Police Patrols Lead to Arrests: Drunk Driver Involved in Collision

The Cyprus Police conducted targeted preventative operations throughout the night, with an increased presence in urban areas, aiming to prevent criminal activity and protect citizens. During the operations, ten individuals were arrested for various offenses, including illegal residence, domestic violence, failure to appear in court, possession of burglary tools, and driving under the influence of alcohol. Specifically, four individuals were arrested for residing illegally in Cyprus, two for incidents of domestic violence, one for non-compliance with a court order, and two for possessing burglary tools. Additionally, a driver was arrested for driving under the influence and being involved in a traffic accident with only property damage. Throughout the night, 397 vehicles and 97 individuals were checked, and 30 premises were inspected. Traffic checks resulted in 147 complaints for various traffic violations, eight of which related to driving under the influence. 19 vehicles were also impounded. These operations are part of a broader, ongoing preventative plan by the Police, with increased presence, targeted checks, and immediate action in all provinces, aiming to enhance the sense of security for citizens.
