Police on High Alert: Overnight Arrests for Domestic Violence, Drugs, and Burglary – Over 600 Vehicles Intercepted for Checks

The Cyprus Police carried out overnight preventive operations aimed at preventing and suppressing crime. During the operations, seven people were arrested for various offenses, including illegal possession of drugs, burglary, domestic violence, driving under the influence of alcohol, and failure to comply with police instructions. More than 600 vehicles were intercepted for checks and over 750 people were checked. 34 checks were also carried out on premises, resulting in four reports for violations of their operating licenses. Traffic checks resulted in 211 reports for various traffic violations, including 87 for speeding and 25 for driving under the influence of alcohol. In addition, four drivers tested positive for drugs. Eight vehicles were also impounded as part of the investigation of traffic offenses. These operations are part of the Police's ongoing effort to maintain public order and protect citizens.
