Picasso Worth €1 Million 'Given Away' for €100 - How to Participate

A portrait by Picasso, titled “Tête de femme” (Head of a Woman) and valued at over one million euros, will be raffled off for just €100 a ticket in a groundbreaking charitable initiative by the French Alzheimer's Research Foundation. The proceeds from the ticket sales will be dedicated to funding research into Alzheimer's disease. The idea originated with French television producer Peri Cosan, who secured the approval of Picasso's grandson, Olivier Picasso, and the Picasso estate. Olivier Picasso stated that this initiative aligns with the generous and discreet spirit of his grandfather, who frequently assisted those in need. The painting was created during a particularly complex period for Picasso, set against the backdrop of World War II and personal difficulties. The goal is to sell 120,000 tickets, raising 11 million euros for Alzheimer's research. The draw will take place on April 14th at Christie's auction house in Paris. If not enough tickets are sold to cover the cost of the painting, a full refund will be provided to participants. Peri Cosan has already organized two similar raffles for Picasso paintings in the past, raising a total of over 10 million euros for charitable causes. This particular initiative is expected to attract significant interest from around the world, offering a unique opportunity to acquire a work of art of inestimable value.
